How to Avoid the Quits.

The quits are the easy way out. It doesn’t make us feel good but we tell ourselves we knew we couldn’t do it, it’s just too much and it’ll be easier to stop. Wondering why we even bothered in the first place. It tends to happen when we jump in without a plan, making all the changes at one time instead of giving ourselves the time to make new habits routine. We can avoid the quits and make lifelong changes with these three steps:

  1. Set reasonable, achievable monthly goals.

    Don’t expect results in 30 days. Give yourself time to make the better habits you want, routine. No 30 day challenges. No lose 30lbs in 30 days gimmicks. No diets. Don’t pressure yourself into any results in 30 days. Make your main goal consistency. Consistency will get you the results you want and results you didn’t know you could achieve.

  2. Set your workout schedule.

    Pick your days, stick to them. Be realistic. Don’t overwhelm yourself with committing to more than you can. Set your workout time; morning, afternoon or night. Sticking to the same timing will help make it routine until you are comfortable with your discipline to not skip days. Post your calendar on the wall, fridge, a door, wherever you will see it daily to track your workouts and help motivate you to not skip days.

  3. Use your ‘Why’

    Set your alarm with your ‘Why’, that way when it goes off, it pops-up to remind you ‘Why’ you won’t skip your workout. Write your ‘Why’ and post it around your home to remind you why you don’t skip workouts. Keeping it in front of you will push you to sticking to reaching your goals. To not feeling like you’ve let yourself down. Be your biggest cheerleader. Rely on yourself to be disciplined and reach your goals, no one can do it for you.
